Succeeding a first...

It is pleasing that today's article coincides with our Republic Day ...

In my company, where I entered the pharmaceutical industry, we attended the annual world meeting in America in the beginning of 2002 after 3 months. A Harvard lecturer discussed an important issue with all the participants in this meeting of 500 people, which was attended by the highest level in the world, including the CEO and his team. I was so active in the debate that Hodja finally gave me the grand prize. Commenting in such a big and critical environment took courage and my courage rewarded me again.

My general manager congratulated him and said, “Güldem, you are a very smart and determined type. However, as you can see, there is no female general manager in this environment. We will try, but under these conditions it will not be easy for you to become a general manager, you should know that too”. This comment made me think: What? Did it consider me worthy of the general manager? 😳👏🏻 Also why were there really no women CEOs?

In fact, it didn't even cross my mind to be a CEO or something… but for the first time, I had an excitement and a sense of why not! It was such a thing to seed the human mind!

After exactly 5 years, I became one of the first 2 female general managers of my company in the world with the support of my manager and my company! It has never been so difficult, I will tell you what happened ...

I'm a Republican woman!
