Learning by Experience 50

Let the action begin!

Let's come to the second issue I mentioned that I had difficulty in Basel: How can you proceed in a greenfield/ greenfield project (that is, in a project where only conceptual things and the expected result are communicated to you, but you do not know where to start and how to proceed)? My experience has been like this:

a. Have “numerous but innumerable” opinion talks with people you trust, inside and outside the company (within the limits of confidentiality), whose mind, knowledge and experience you trust, first one-on-one, then in groups. What would you do if you were in my place? Gather all the ideas that come to mind from these conversations, and more importantly, the questions.

b. Read, read and keep reading about your project from all sources😊

Then, hold at least 2-3 workshops within the company with a moderator who can direct conceptual thinking.

D. Now that your mind and core group have reached a certain maturity 🙄😀 prepare a draft program for the project. Preferably divide the project into 4-5 main parts so that each part can be deepened. Very clear project charter and governance for each piece (project table and execution format)
create.

After this homework work, if necessary, you can work with expert consultant companies for the relevant parts. I do not recommend handing over the project directly to the consultants from the very beginning without doing this kitchen work. Things may come up that are too conceptual and may not fit your company at all.

After these steps, you see, a project that looks like a dream has taken on flesh and bones, the main work that needs to be done has emerged... At that point, you will be very happy 😀👍🏻
