Learning by Experience 55

When you move to a brand new company after many years;
I think it takes 1-1.5 years to understand that culture. Each company has its own values, tone of voice, stance, outlook on life, internal relationship management and its own texture, just like a human being. After you have grasped this great structure, you need to decide how many steps you will take towards this structure, how long you want to stay as before, and make your individual adjustments.

In this change, I realized for the first time how relaxing and good the experience was👏🏻I have always had to do very different things throughout my career. However, in this job, I was doing a very similar task to the previous one. Even though the company is different, the same job in the same country, in the same industry🙄 It is certain that it creates great comfort.

When you change a company after many years, you feel like a fish out of water for a while in terms of networking... You hardly know anyone 🙄If you have an appetite to re-establish it -which requires mutual effort-it's not really a difficult thing, I guess?

As I said in my previous article, the most important thing in such a change is to establish your reliable team very quickly. Only in this way can you quickly look after your business and create credit in this new environment that does not know you.
As a result, after 2 years of achieving our goals together with the team and dealing with the settings I mentioned above, what I aimed for in terms of career did not materialize - as it can happen in any company - due to a change in structure. I was pretty broken for a few weeks, I was thrown by myself😂
When I calmed down a little, I thought; It was a very good thing for our country organization. I said "if the only problem is your personal career disappointment, you should find a solution, Güldem".

In line with this, I made a very valuable and reasonable creative solution proposal for my personal priorities to the company. Thankfully, they didn't break it either🙏🏻 It's been 2.5 years since that day, we are leaving happily...

At that moment of disappointment, if I had acted like "this is what happened to us, let's get offended" 😂, this issue would definitely grow inside me. We solved it passed 👏🏻👏🏻❤️

Both at work and in my private life, I do not sweep any issue under the rug that upsets me. In order to create a common solution, I always try to ensure that I have a lot of credit on the other side. On top of this credit, I set my tone softly, constructively, but firmly. This is exactly what happened in this example.

When you become a leader, it's your responsibility to make yourself the happiest and most motivated version of yourself😊 Do what is necessary and create that version of yourself!
